The BEEP (Bicycle Education and Enforcement Program) partnership between the UCI police and UCI Transportation is active within the biking community and provides a crucial link between encouragement, enforcement and education. BEEP personnel have a presence on the campus at all major bicycle events to register bicycles for free, show campus riders how to safely and securely lock their bikes, and to provide information about safe riding and how to avoid conflicts with vehicles and pedestrians. The UCIPD employs a community policing philosophy and use BEEP interactions to build trust and open communication with the campus bicycling community.
