UCI Transportation invites faculty, staff, and students to celebrate National Bike Month! Throughout May, you can ride your bike to campus, learn about the benefits of biking, earn a certificate by attending our online webinars, and celebrate with us at our annual WhimCycle Festival of Bikes. Embrace the warmer weather season and enjoy your ride this month!

Benefits of Biking

When you choose to bike instead of drive, you are making the biggest impact on your carbon footprint. Poor air quality is largely caused by motor vehicle exhaust, which means riding doesn’t just help your health but also the community around you.

Riding is a great way to get outside, enjoy the fresh air, and reconnect with the world around you. Just 20-30 minutes of moderate exercise per day helps boost your mood, strengthen your immune system, and reduce your stress levels.

Kick off National Bike Month by cycling to campus on Tuesday, May 6 from 7:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. for Bike to UCI Day! Visit our informational booth near the Engineering Bike Parking Center for bike demos and refreshments.
